Resilience is the ability to cope and thrive in the face of negative events, challenges or adversities. We promote this at school through:
· Positive social connections.
· A safe and secure environment.
· Promotion of positive coping strategies and problem-solving skills.
· Attentiveness towards pro-social values.
· Inculcating a sense of purpose and responsibility in students.

At SGA, we understand and prioritize the mental and emotional well-being of both pupils and staff, and are proud of the outstanding level of care and support we provide to ensure the same. An emphasis on mental health allows students to meet their learning potential, cope with stressors, and seek support from friends and family.
We promote mental health and well-being by adopting approaches that involve the entire school community in the creation of a safe and inclusive learning culture and environment including:
· Timely social and emotional support for those with additional needs.
· Involvement of students and families in decision-making.
When educators, school leaders, and staff are given the resources and tools to promote and model behavior, values, and inclusivity, teacher-student relationships improve and the school becomes a safe and inclusive community that supports everyone’s well-being while ensuring improved learning outcomes

Social and Emotional Supports

  • Co-curricular activities are a crucial component of the SGA experience.
Through the variety of activities on offer, students are encouraged to develop particular talents, share common interests, and gain wider experiences. Our extensive co-curricular program aims to provide students with exposure to an array of activities that bolsters their interest in school life.

At SGA, creative fields such as art, music, dance, drama, and sports are given as much importance as academics. We firmly believe that exposing students to a multitude of experiences as opposed to a single-minded focus on book-based learning prepares them for adult life. Immersion in our co-curricular program is crucial in helping students grow up to excel socially, emotionally, and professionally to face the competitive world of tomorrow.

Our state-of-the-art athletic facilities allow students to participate in sports that round out their school experience, emphasize the importance of health and personal well-being, and teach them the skills of sportsmanship, time management, and self-discipline.

Our co-curricular programs also include field trips, excursions, entrepreneurship opportunities, STEAM education, and community outreach. These are intended to help develop students’ leadership, collaborative, and communicative skills. Our year-round activities provide students with the impetus to discover their individual potential in a constructive, safe, and healthy environment.

In cutting-edge classes that emphasize progressive education, soft skills development, creative expressions, and exploration, our students learn essential life skills of planning, perseverance, collaboration, and resilience. Teachers intentionally focus on fostering skills that transcend subject areas, giving students ample opportunities to practice personal agency and creative personal exploration. Lessons prioritize creativity, self-awareness, and self-motivation so that students take charge of their own learning.
