RESILIENCE BUILDING FOR STUDENTS!
Resilience is the ability to cope and thrive in the face of negative events, challenges or adversities. We promote this at school through:
· Positive social connections.
· A safe and secure environment.
· Promotion of positive coping strategies and problem-solving skills.
· Attentiveness towards pro-social values.
· Inculcating a sense of purpose and responsibility in students.
HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
At SGA, we understand and prioritize the mental and emotional well-being of both pupils and staff, and are proud of the outstanding level of care and support we provide to ensure the same. An emphasis on mental health allows students to meet their learning potential, cope with stressors, and seek support from friends and family.
We promote mental health and well-being by adopting approaches that involve the entire school community in the creation of a safe and inclusive learning culture and environment including:
· Timely social and emotional support for those with additional needs.
· Involvement of students and families in decision-making.
When educators, school leaders, and staff are given the resources and tools to promote and model behavior, values, and inclusivity, teacher-student relationships improve and the school becomes a safe and inclusive community that supports everyone’s well-being while ensuring improved learning outcomes
